My Review
Emmy Ellis is an author who is definitely on my go-to author list! I never check the blurb, I just buy and read. This is because I love anything and everything she writes. The Pig Pen is a brand new series so I was quick to read this book.
The first book in the Detective Anna James series. Set in Yorkshire and introducing us to Anna, a detective who finds herself investigating a grisly murder case, which soon becomes multiple murder cases. This is an excellent start to a new series. Emmy Ellis again brings an authentic and gritty story. This is what I expect from this author, her consistency is 100%. Every single book I have read always ticks every box for me.
Every character is so real,vivid and multi layered. Not all are nice and none are perfect. This creates characters I can back all the way are ones I truly cannot stand! This isn’t a light read, it gets pretty dark and a bit gory, but I loved every word!
I read The Pig Pen in one day! Such an addictive and thrilling read. Emmy Ellis has always written page turners. This book is literally no different. The Lion’s Den is the next book and I am lucky enough to have it! A brilliant series!!
