BLURB
I ran to get help. But her body disappeared. Will anyone believe me?
Megan is unpacking in the spare room of her sister’s house when she hears the scream.
Racing to the nearby woods, she is shocked to see a young woman’s unconscious body: her pink top bright against the earth, her long, dark hair wet from a nearby stream. But when desperate Megan returns with the police, all they find is empty woodland.
She’s been through so much, her sister whispers, welcoming her home with a kind smile. You can’t blame her for seeing things.
But Megan knows what she saw – and her past shouldn’t come into it. Was the young woman dead, or dying? How can a body just disappear?
Megan left home for a good reason. Now, confronting the past could be the only way to find the truth. But what if Megan is in danger, too? And what price will she have to pay, to find the girl from the woods?
An absolutely gripping mystery thriller that will make you question who to trust and have you racing through the pages. Perfect for fans of Mark Edwards, Claire Douglas and T. M. Logan.
My Review
Kerry Wilkinson is the master of psychological thrillers. Every book of his that I have read ticks every box. So, I had high expectations when I started The Missing Body. He did it again! Ticked every box for me. The twists, turns, and intrigue in the story kept me turning those pages from the off.
Megan has come to stay with her sister after he world is shattered. She discovers a dead woman in the woods. After alerting the police they go to the spot Megan saw her, but she has gone! The police feel she is imagining it, but Megan knows enough. She doesn’t know how to prove it. What she also doesn’t know is that people are keeping secrets, and they want to keep it that way.
Kerry Wilkinson never lets me down. The Missing Body is another brilliant read that adds to his already large list of brilliant books. I was addicted to this story. I was glued to my Kindle, and the pages flew by way too quick! That’s the only issue when reading this authors work. You want to find everything out, but you really dont want it to end!
His characters are always well-rounded and multi-layered. I find I always become invested in whichever character I am reading about in his books. It’s just inevitable. I become so engrossed in the tale that it comes to life in my mind so vividly.
If you, like me, appreciate perfectly placed twists and turns, ones which have the power to make you gasp at times. Or enjoy a believable character or even an unreliable narrator. Kerry Wilkinson is definitely worth reading. If you haven’t already, that is!
