This is a book that I can say is an absolute briliant summer read! I wish I was aboard Perseus with the sun beating down. That’s how this book leaves you. I do enjoy an Evie Hunter tale. The fact that her settings always whisk me away so easily adds an extra layer to the experience.
The Takedown is a revenge thriller that totally caught me up, almost like a whirlwind. The luxurious settings, the characters who are intriguing and multi layered. I couldn’t get enough of this story. Freya is the main character who is only on Perseus for one reason, to take down the owner of the yacht, Julian Falcon!
I was so eager to discover everything about why and if Freya would succeed. As the plot unfolded and the details started to come out, it just fed my curiosity all the more. The fact that there were more people who it seemed would revel in his downfall made it all the more ‘juicy’ to read. I love a good revenge story!
A well-paced and as always excellently written book that I read far too fast for my liking. If you fancy a great read with dodgy characters and a luxurious setting, this is one to pick up!
