Zoe Rosi – Courier

Today, I’m really pleased to say it’s my stop for Zoe Rosi’s brand new novella, Courier. With thanks to Donna Morfett and Zoe herself for the gifted ebook so I could write my honest review.

Meet Bob, your local courier.
You’ve barely noticed him. You’ve barely even looked his way.
But he’s noticed you. He’s noticed everything about you.
He’s been paying very close attention indeed.
And he likes what he sees…

You by Caroline Kepnes meets Engleby by Sebastian Faulks in Courier, a gritty psychological thriller novella about loneliness, warped thinking, and the dark side of desire.

Zoe Rosi is an author who, when I see she has a new book coming, I look forward to it so much. She has written in various genres and hits the ball out of the park in each one.

Courier is a psychological thriller novella, and I sped through it in no time. As always, Zoe manages to make this a read that you just can’t put down. Even though this is a novella, there is so much packed into it, I didn’t feel let down or that it just skimmed the surface.

Bob is a courier, but not your run of the mill everyday bloke, no, Bob has the power to make you so unsettled and at first I had a feeling of sympathy, then, little by little it becomes clear that Bob is something else! Zoe Rosi is no stranger to dark stories, but Courier shows just how twisted and dark she can get. I read this book with a creepy, ominous feeling that just intensified as the pages flicked by.

It’s such a unique story with a cover that catches your attention immediately. I will also say that even the conclusion just tops of this tense, gripping, and so creepy novella!

Author Bio

Zoe Rosi is the author of eight novels. Her first six are romantic comedies, at which point she rebelled against the genre and penned a thriller about a vigilante serial killer of predatory men.

This novel, Pretty Evil, is heavily inspired by American Psycho and features a sociopathic murderer called Camilla Black, who is as stylish as she is vengeful, juggling a day job as a fashion magazine editor with her darker pursuits.

Pretty Evil was originally published in 2020, at the height of MeToo, under the title ‘Predator’. It was praised in the press, being described as ‘an erotic murder thriller for the MeToo generation… a must-read’ by the Daily Express and as ‘the ultimate revenge story’ by The Independent. It has since been re-released by Thomas & Mercer.

Someone’s Watching Me is Zoe’s second thriller. In January 2024, her third psychological thriller, a novella entitled Courier is due to be published.
