I’m so happy to be part of the blog tour for The Palm Tree Swingers Island Band by Lily Lawson. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Lily Lawson for the beautiful copy of the book for the tour.

Take a tiger, an orangutan,an elephant, an eagle, a rhino, a dragon, a spider, and a turtle.

Mix with music till loud – you might want to stand back.

A children’s book always has my attention! The Palm Tree Swingers Island Band by Lily Lawson is a perfect example for me of a great children’s book. The colourful illustrations and the great rhymes added up to a book I just knew my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter would love.

I was so right, Amalia adored the animals and the musical instruments. She took particular interest in which animal played what. After reading it twice, she read it to me! Has a fabulous memory, that’s for sure. She has claimed ownership, and it has gone to her house now, ‘so mummy can read it,’ she says.

If a three year old can be so invested in a book so quickly, for me, that means it’s a good book! The Palm Tree Island Swingers is exactly that. Bright, colourful illustrations of animals for the children to talk about along with the cute rhymes. I think every child would love a copy of this book in their collection.

If you have younger children or grandchildren, this is a brilliant way to spend quality time having fun with them. Take my word for it!
