Robert Crouch – No Easy Answers (Kent Fisher Murder Mystery #9) #NoEasyAnswers #booklaunch #RobertCrouch #bookreview #SharonBTB

I’m jumping for joy to be part of the No Easy Answers by Robert Crouch book launch. Thanks to Robert Crouch for my gifted copy of the book to bring my honest review.

Confronting the past can be deadly.

As Christmas approaches, murder is the last thing on Kent Fisher’s mind.

When contractors employed by local entrepreneur Stephen Fox discover the remains of a woman on the site of Kent’s original animal sanctuary, old family secrets come to light, threatening those closest to him.

Fox believes it’s his missing wife. Despite intense pressure and a lucrative fee, Kent still refuses to investigate, having promised not to take on more cases. But when the police launch a murder inquiry, can he keep his promise?

Or will he investigate?

If he does, he risks interfering with a criminal investigation and losing the woman he loves.
If he doesn’t, the wrong person could be accused of murder.

‘A fantastic series that just gets better and better.’

The ninth book in The Kent Fisher Murder Mystery series. No Easy Answers took me right back into Kent Fishers life, and, boy, I was happy to be back!

Kent is still attempting to get to grips with the fact that his wife has disappeared and that she still doesn’t want to come back home to him. She made him agree to stop investigating after the events of the previous book. His Animal Sanctuary is now a viable business for him, but this does mean employing staff and taking in from the voluntary sector, too. Along with this comes visitors, too, and it’s a visitor that makes a request. One that may just upset Gemma, his wife.

Kent does know what this request will mean, but he also knows he can be useful too. He does really try not to get involved in investigating, but when the person is no longer missing, but dead. He knows he can’t stand aside. I felt for Kent. He knows he wants to keep his promise, but he also knows this is serious. His dilemma is clear.

This is a series I came into really late. I regret not being there right from the very beginning. Robert Crouch has the skill of being able to make the reader a part of the story. It’s a complex tale with tons of mystery. It’s an investigation that gripped me. There were plenty of red herrings as the story developed. I thought I had the killer worked out. Needless to say, I didn’t have the full story yet!

Kent Fisher is a character that I think has been created so well. He is very human. His flaws and strengths are apparent, and in this book, it’s very clear he doesn’t like upsetting anyone. The only trouble with that is that occasionally, you have to make decisions that upset someone along the way. That’s what he is up against, and he has to do something.

Robert Crouch has written a crime mystery series that is a compulsive and gripping read, one that I can’t get enough of. I am so glad that I can say I have read some of this series. I am planning to catch up at some point and hoping to keep up with the series as it’s published. I like it that much and recommend it if you love an investigative twist to your crime.

Author Bio

Robert Crouch

Robert wanted to bring something fresh and original to the murder mystery novel.

He drew on his own extensive experience to create environmental health officer Kent Fisher, a different kind of sleuth to appeal to today’s readers. While neither a police officer nor a private detective, Kent has the enforcement skills, contacts and determination needed to tackle the most complex murders.

While Robert taps into his early experiences of injustice to explore the motivations that drive people to kill, he tempers this with irreverent humour and a hint of romance. A love of wildlife, nature and the environment help add a contemporary slant to the stories.

When not writing, Robert can be found walking among the gentle hills and the coast of the South Downs with his wife. Armed with a camera, or two, he likes to photograph the local wildlife and seek out settings for the next novel.
