Today, it’s my turn to post my review for Not A Friend of the Family by Stuart Field. Thanks to DLM Book Tours and Stuart Field for the gifted ebook to take part today.

A killer is loose in a small Yorkshire town. The police are on the hunt, led by Detective Inspector Richard Platt and his team. The deeper they get drawn into the case, the more Platt believes that there’s more to the killings than meets the eye.
Meanwhile, Melanie Foster – a girl locked away in Larksford House Clinic – is planning her escape. Wrongfully incarcerated, she’s determined to find her parents, track down the person responsible and find out why she was hidden away.
But everything is not as it seems, and people are not who they say they are. Soon, secrets that have been buried countless years will be revealed with murderous consequences.
Stuart Field is an author that, no matter what he writes, I will read. This particular book follows on from the first, A Friend of the Family
A psychological thriller that I knew I would read in one go! Just as I did the first one. I have been waiting, most impatiently, for this book to arrive. It follows on from the events of the previous boo
D.I. Platt is still trying to hunt down the vicious killer who specialises in targeting mothers and daughters. He is still attempting to deal with what his own wife and daughter experienced at the same time. Melanie is still locked away in Larksford House clinic and planning her escape. She seizes her chance during a riot. Her next aim is to find out exactly why she was locked away in the first place.
Another book that grabbed me and wouldn’t let go! It was almost like being on a runaway rollercoaster, with the twists and turns making me constantly keep guessing. Both Platt and Melanie had my constant attention. Platt’s determination to find the killer had me rooting for him. Melanie’s life begins to be revealed, and as I got to know more, I wanted to know everything. As the secrets began to bubble to the surface, I was turning the pages so fast it’s a wonder the Kindle didn’t burn out!
I was so happy to return to these characters and discover everything that I was left wanting to know after A Friend Of The Family. The conclusion was a shocker, too, just to make it a book I wouldn’t forget in a hurry.
