I’m pleased to say I’m part of the blog tour for Second Chances by Miriam McGuirk. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and the author for my gifted ebook to take part

Second Chances is a touching tale that takes us on a journey from India to Kent, UK, following the intertwined lives of the residents who live on the same road.
At the heart of the story is Molly—kind-hearted, resilient, and determined to make a fresh start after her husband Rory leaves her and their son Jamie.
But when Jamie disappears on the day they were supposed to move to Kent, Molly’s new life takes an unexpected turn.
As Molly settles into her new community, she befriends her neighbours, Florence and Colonel Bryce Beckwith, who share their own stories of love, loss, and longing for second chances.
The three of them navigate their regrets and come to realise that it’s never too late to make a change.
Second Chances is a poignant, multigenerational tale of connections and community, showcasing the unbreakable human spirit and the hope that can come from taking a leap of faith.
As the synopsis says, this IS a touching tale. One that took me from India to Kent in a day. The cover to this book made me smile straight away. I was quite looking forward to settling down with Second Chances.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a story that was full of heart, and one that I found a delight. It had characters that tugged at my heart strings. I felt for Molly all the way. She plans a new start with her son, Jamie, only for him to disappear on the day they should be moving. I’m a parent, I got her straight away. She does her best to get on with her life without him. But she never gives up hope.
Miriam McGuirk has perfectly paced this story. I felt like I was a part of the community alongside Molly as she got to know the people in her new life. Each one unique, and with their own stories to tell. As the story develops, it’s clear that every character has something they carry and keep close to their chest.
It’s such a heartwarming and uplifting novel with the lives of all the characters interwoven so cleverly. It definitely made me so curious to see what would happen and how it would all end up. I was hoping they would all get their second chances as I read.
This novel was one that had a touch of everything. It was poignant, heartwarming, and had humour threaded through too, not too much but enough. Second Chances was an unexpected joy to read.
