The thirteenth book in the DI Gina Harte series, I was so glad when I got the chance to read Their Cold Hearts. I have read every book in the series, and Carla Kovach is a genius with her Gina Harte books.
A series in which every book can be read alone because there is enough information within each book to make the reader up to speed. Even though it’s the thirteenth book, it’s another excellent instalment of the series.
Gina is looking after her granddaughter, but once a copper, always a copper. Even in your downtime. She receives a call and is pulled back to work. As the days pass, her work becomes even more urgent as another body is discovered. Gina knows there are lives at stake and finds herself with a decision to make, which will no doubt be the incorrect one for someone!
Returning to Gina Harte is always a celebration! Carla Kovach has made this series so excellent that once I sit down to read the newest release, I never look up, not once. Not until I really had to. Even after thirteen books, it’s a series I am still addicted to.
Their Cold Hearts is as fresh as the first book from the series. It never gets boring. The twists and turns were all perfectly placed and kept me on the edge of my seat. I was guessing all the way through, not that I was right, but that’s the fun. I was sad when I had to leave Gina again. She is a character I really feel I know… After thirteen books, I think I can be excused. I’m already looking forward to Carla’s next book! I can’t recommend this book and series highly enough.
