I’m super happy to be able to post my review for Shameful Secrets On Coronation Close by Lizzie Lane. My apologies to Rachel Gilbey and Lizzie Lane for my review being late. Thanks to Rachel and Boldwood Books for the gifted ebook to write my unbiased review.

There are no secrets that time does not reveal…Bristol 1937
The year is 1937 and the country is still reeling from the abdication of King Edward the Eighth the year before.
His brother, the Duke of York has become King George the Sixth and will be crowned in May.
The country is on a high. Union Jacks are being dusted off and bunting is being made. Thelma, Jenny and residents of Coronation Close are all a buzz with planning the street parties and celebrations for the great day.
But behind every door shameful secrets and sins linger on Coronation Close, just bubbling to expose themselves…

The second book in the Coronation Close series. I was looking forward to this book so much. Lizzie Lane is an author who recreates the past so vividly. Her books tend to transport me to whichever decade she has written about. I can’t fault her writing in any way, I love her knack for creating characters that the reader can take to their heart so easily.
I returned to the residents of Coronation Close and felt like I had never left them. There are also neighbours in the Close who have just moved in. This book gets us up to speed with everyone and then mainly revolves around Thelma and what’s happening for her. Thelma is the type of woman who, I can imagine, was the backbone of our country. The strength of her character is tested severely this time. My heart went out to her.
This is a wartime saga that makes me feel I’m actually part of everything. Lizzie Lane’s research has to be astronomical! I can always see the places she writes about so easily. Vivid descriptions are her forté, I’m sure.
I flew through Shameful Secrets On Coronation Close so fast! It’s another ‘one more chapter’ book. Before I knew it, I was leaving the characters from Coronation Close. Now,I want the third book already!
