A gangland crime thriller from Evie Hunter will always be a book I want to read. Especially when the cover looks as good as The Kills’ does. I don’t even need to read the blurb to pick the book up. Evie Hunter is an author whose books are always brilliantly written.
We meet Seb Carter, sent to jail for six years for a murder he didn’t commit. Out and ready for revenge. Sebs sister, Lily has a new carer. Ava Harper has more than one reason for working at the Carter House. She has questions she wants answers to, and this is the best place to find them. The only problem is that from the first time seeing Ava, he is sure he knows her from somewhere, but will he work it out?
I was hooked immediately with this taut gangland crime thriller. I expect nothing less than superbly crafted characters, and that’s what I got. Evie Hunter weaves a tale, so gripping that I read it in a day. I just couldn’t put it down. The further I got into the book, the more the twists appeared, and they were some twists. Let me tell you!
Yet another fast-moving story from an author who is rapidly rising to the top of my ‘have to read’ list. Don’t take my word for it. Just go read The Kill by Evie Hunter. If you enjoy a fabulous gangland crime thriller, she doesn’t let you down at all.
