I’m super excited to post my stop on The Summer House by Keri Beevis blog tour. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the gifted ebook to bring you my honest and unbiased review.

Mead House was once our childhood home.

Despite my fears, I always knew we would have to return to face the demons of our past.

Back to the place where it happened, to where, as carefree teenagers, we lost our elder sister in the most brutal of circumstances.

As executors of our grandmother’s will, my twin brother, Ollie, and I needed to empty the house for resale.

What I didn’t expect to discover was my sister’s secret journal that contained her most private thoughts and shocking dark secrets.

Now I am questioning everything that I saw that night. Did I get it wrong, who I saw?

Did my evidence send an innocent man, my then boyfriend’s brother, to jail for the last 17 years?

I know I have no choice. If I want to find answers, I will have to go back to that fateful night my sister died. When she made her last visit to the summer house.

A psychological thriller from the twisted mind of Keri Beevis, always calls for a totally clear day for me just to read. I have been a massive fan of her writing and I think I always will be. I always wonder what she will come up with next and The Summer House is, for me, one of her best.

Twins Lana and Ollie have returned to Mead House, where they grew up with their grandmother, Kitty, and their elder sister, Camille.  The house where Camille was murdered in the summer house, seventeen years ago.  They are back to sort out the house after Kitty’s death. Both Lana and Ollie have their own scars from Camille’s death. Lana from identifying her killer and Ollie from finding Camille’s body.

This is not an easy time for any of the twins. Then Lana finds something that turns Camille’s death on its head and has Lana wondering if she helped to commit the wrong man to prison. As they sort the house out and try to piece together what really happened to Camille. They don’t realise there is someone who is determined the truth will never be uncovered.

Well, I was hooked from the first page. As always, every character was created in such a skilful way that I took Lana to my heart immediately. Ollie took me a while to warm too due to Elise, his ‘fiancee’. I was guessing at every twist and turn of this story. Who could it be?

Well, the red herrings Keri Beevis plants are done in such a way that you don’t think twice and just blindly follow them. Then I realise that she has expertly twisted my mind and I’m wrong, again!

Such a thrilling, tense, and suspenseful book. I think this could be my favourite story from this author. Excellent characters that I loved and a plot that makes you sit up and take notice from the start. I was hanging on to Keri Beevis’s every…single…word.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to any reader who appreciates a great psychological thriller.
