Hiya everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today, it’s my spot on The Fixer by Lee Winter book tour. Thanks to Literally PR and Lee Winters for the gifted copy of the book, to bring my honest and unbiased review.
A naive activist is hired by a corporate villain but doesn’t realize it. Cue one awkward farce, a twisty puzzle, and the slowest of slow burns in this opposites-attract, ice queen romance.
Nine years ago, aloof, icy Michelle Hastings chose career over love. She’s now living with that choice as she rules a secret corporation catering to the rich and powerful.
Enter Eden Lawless. The guileless activist finds it a bit weird being employed by a mystery organization to bring down a corrupt mayor. But, hey, she’s up for a challenge. Much harder is getting her beautiful new boss out of her head. The pull between them is electric.
Book one in The Villains Series is a lesbian romance filled with intrigue, humor, and heart. It’s set in The Red Files universe but can be read as a standalone series.

It seems to be a week for unknown authors! Lee Winter is one I have not had the pleasure of coming across before. The Fixer has a cover that, along with the blurb, had me intrigued. All I can say is it may be my first book by Lee Winter, but it won’t be my last! This is the first book in The Villians series, and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of the second book now, Chaos Agent.
Michelle Hastings is the CEO of the fixers and is generally known as an ice queen by all. She has been part of another series by the same author, and the reader is brought up to speed with her back story. This means The Fixer is easily read as a standalone. I was so happy to have the back story. It meant I got to know Michelle quite well.
The characters are really well fleshed out, and I must say that for all Michelle is an ice queen, I found her to have some redeeming characteristics, and I got to quite like her. She was so realistic I felt I knew her as the story unfolded. Then there is Eden, a woman who fights for justice in society. An activist who is hired by the fixers to take down the mayor in her hometown. She is so likeable and finds herself being shut out by Michelle when she wants to get to know her more personally.
These two women had me so curious, and I loved getting to know them both. Lee Winters style of writing made it so easy to read this book. No sooner had I started the book than I was finishing it. Time just sped by. I found it riveting and with humour, too. The slow burn of the romance just finished it off! Now I need the second book!
