A brand new series from Anita Waller immediately makes me intrigued. The author of several excellent books, Fatal Secrets, was brought right to the top of my to be read list.
We are introduced to Matt Forrester and his sister, Hermia. Matt is a copper who has followed his dad into the ranks. Hermia works in research at the university. Then their dad is murdered and they are both as determined to find the killer. Will they be able to find who killed their father, or will one of them be next?
Anita Waller brings new characters to her readers so well. For me, I felt like I had known Matt and Hermia for more than a few chapters. As Matt finds himself taken of his father’s case,he knows he will have to resign to carry on investigating. He decides to throw caution into the wind. Along with Hermia and his best friend Steve, he starts to dig.
The pages almost turned themselves as I was reading Fatal Secrets. I was so invested in the characters and curious what would happen next. The various twists of the story had me guessing so much!
Anita Waller has definitely written a belter with this book. A well plotted story with characters you can get invested in immediately and such intrigue throughout. It definitely kept me on my toes. Even the conclusion was a surprise! I am honestly looking forward to the second book so much. Do yourself a favour and pick up Fatal Secrets. It’s more than well worth a read.
