Hi everyone! I’m so happy to say it’s my turn on the Pretty Evil by Zoe Rosi blog tour today. Many thanks to Rachel Gilbey and Zoe Rosi for the gifted arc in exchange for an honest review today.

You’ve done a bad thing. She has you in her sights. Now you’re going to pay.

Meet Camilla Black: an affluent, respected, influential fashion magazine editor, who lives it up in her beautiful Mayfair apartment. But Camilla’s glamorous life is a lie. Behind her poised exterior beats the cold dark heart of a vigilante killer, a murderer hell-bent on wreaking vengeance upon bad men.

Camilla expects to get away with murder. She’s careful. And anyway, it’s worth the risk. She’s making the world a better place with each predator she kills. But when one of her victims’ bodies is unexpectedly found, his gruesome death is splashed all over the papers.

To make matters worse, she’s now being pursued by Detective Wheelan, a new addition to the Met with laser-sharp focus and a worrying habit of solving impossible crimes…

She knows she should stop, but she can’t. Some men just deserve to die. Will Camilla’s insatiable appetite for justice be her downfall, or can she outsmart the police?

Pretty Evil is a gripping psychological serial killer thriller that lives up to its description and title. Also, being described as Dexter in stilettos fits this easily.

We meet Camilla Black, a thoroughly successful woman, the rich and glamourous editor of Couture fashion magazine. A woman who personifies success, fighting her way up the ladder. She wasn’t always living the high life or experiencing all the good things life had to offer. Her life is one big lie, the pictures of her family, not real, a pretend family home, and a different name is what gets her by.

Well, along with hunting down paedophiles and rapists that is. She has her trophies from her previous kills, and she revels in them. Her current kill was a piece de resistance, she thinks. The next thing she knows it is on the front page of the news and people are talking. The worst part is that Detective Wheelan is on the case and determined to find the killer. Will this man be Camilla’s undoing, or can she evade justice after all?

It’s a story I enjoyed so much. Camilla is quite a cold, calculating woman, and we see her come alive when faced with a monster or when she feels the need for sex. If you are at all of a mild nature, be prepared, Camilla loves her sex and it isn’t just skimmed over.

Is it weird to say I was rooting for Camilla? Of course, it is in one way. In another, I totally understood her. Zoe Rosi has created a character that’s so realistic. I was so carried away with Camilla’s tale that I read this in one go. The pages didn’t stop turning until the final paragraph. Pretty Evil is such a highly recommended read for anyone who loves a chilling read with lifelike characters.
