Sarah Conway – Hooked @lilmissmorfett @slconway90 #hooked #sarahconway #dlmbooktours #sharonbtb

I am happy to say today I am on the Hooked by Sarah Conway blog tour. Thanks to DLM book tours for place on the tour and Sarah Conway for a copy of this refreshingly light and entertaining read.

Was I more surprised that Brenda was a hooker or that she had business cards at my parents’ drinks party?

Tilly swaps legal briefs for lacy ones…but are the lifestyles compatible?

About to embark on a respectable law career, Tilly stumbles upon a different life, one with many advantages but also risks and challenges.

Can Tilly satisfy herself and those around her?

A debut author with a book that sounded so interesting! I actually started reading this as soon as it arrived through the door.

I found it to be an entertaining read that brightened my day. Tilly is planning a law career but another path in life seems to be looming. This alternative career promises to be a great way to pay the bills and have some fun along the way. Which path will she decide upon? Or can she handle both paths concurrently?

A seemingly light hearted story that does have a deeper message running through it. I was surprised this was a debut to be honest. The writing is so well done and the characters well fleshed out. I loved spending time with Tilly. Her friendship with Fran was lovely to see. In fact, all the characters where memorable for some reason or another. I did feel proud of just how brave Tilly was in some situations and wondered if I could have been as brave!

As you could expect in a story like this there is spice, but it’s not too much. It fits in with the story and doesn’t come across as gratuitous in any way.

I am eager to see how Tilly gets on in her adventurous life and do hope there will be another instalment! It was that good of a read.

Author Bio

Sarah Conway

An army officer and mum of three has become a published author after releasing a ‘steamy’ debut novel, ‘Hooked’.

Sarah Conway, from Bourne, was inspired to start the book after completing an online course by Authors and Co.

The fiction book follows the story of law student Tilly who finds a n alternative way of financing her degree, but one that clashes sharply with the law world she wishes to join. Sarah hit on the idea during a task for a writing group she joined. “I was literally about to doze off when I had an idea, wrote it down and that was my starting point,” she said.

“Without sounding like a cliché, I wanted it to be a journey of empowerment.

“It doesn’t take itself too seriously. There some references from pop culture in there and a few steamy scenes.”

Sarah had to juggle writing with the demands of everyday life with a husband and three children – aged 12, nine and seven – as well as a part-time job with the Army.

She serves as an employment support officer with a reservist unit.

Sarah was brought up in Bourne and moved back to the town with her family seven years ago after leaving her full-time Army role.“I wake up early so I can get a little peace and quiet before the kids get up so I used that half-an-hour to get 500 words on paper every morning,” she explained.

“Maybe in the odd evening I’d spend a few hours on it, too. It helps that I enjoy doing it!

“I’ve done a lot of things in my life and people say I’m successful through my consistency, and I think that’s true.”

The book took between four to six months to complete and was edited and produced by Authors and Co.

“Seeing it laid out on a page was amazing,” Sarah said.

“You are so used to seeing it on a Word document and suddenly it comes back to you as a proper book. So it was pretty special.”

So what’s next?

“A few people who have read it have asked about a sequel. I’ve had the germ of an idea to write about another character from the book and their back story so it will be a bit of a prequel.”

Hooked (KDP), is available in Bourne Bookshop and from Amazon.
