Again I begin with apologies as this tour stop is a day late. But I am happy to say I bring my review of A Winter Wish, Little Duck Pond Café by Rosie Green, to the blog today. Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and Rosie Green for my spot on the tour and the ARC of the book.
With her new-found happiness unexpectedly crushed, Clara is struggling to move forward. It’s hard – especially with step-sister Lois bouncing around the place with joy and making all sorts of plans for the future. And when the household is shocked by a mysterious break-in and a neighbour makes a shocking accusation, Clara finds herself in an impossible position. It’s a situation that threatens to destroy her blossoming romance almost before it’s begun . . .
Here I am again! Back at the Little Duck Pond Café. This is the second book in the sub trilogy featuring Clara. It still slots into the Little Duck Pond Café very nicely. I read and reviewed the first book not too long ago and was so pleased to be invited along for this book.

Returning to catch up with Clara was great. I just felt like I was back with a friend and connected immediately. Rosie Greens’ writing does that to a reader. She writes in such a way that I felt I had never been away. It was a pleasure to be able to witness what would happen between Clara and Rory in this book.
Rosie Green’s characters always feel so real and relatable depending on the characters off course. Clara’s step-sister, Lois, is one I could happily ignore. Her behaviour towards Clara should make her feel ashamed. This is a series that the characters come alive in. For bad or good. Irene, Clara’s step-mum is a troubled woman and I did have some sympathy for her and her back story too.
The setting of Sunnybrook, I love this place. I wishI really did live there. It almost feels like my happy place. This time it was Autumn and on the run up to Christmas and it was great to experience the events with all the characters.
I really appreciated the effortless way I just slipped back into the series, returning to old and new characters that I love spending time with. Rosie Green’s skilful writing allows this with every Little Duck Pond Café book and I hope I get to return for the final book in Clara’s trilogy.
