The Good Wife is a blend of domestic thriller and courtroom drama which brings a rather twisty and tense read. It gripped me immediately and I didn’t surface for a good while.
Cassie is a lawyer and her husband, Theo, is now a stay at home dad to their baby daughter. The day Theo becomes the prime suspect for murdering a neighbours nanny, is the day their lives are changed. They have secrets and there is every possibility they are about to come out.
Ellery Kane grabbed my attention from the beginning with a story that starts as it means to go on. The tense atmosphere is there immediately and it makes it such an addictive story.
The story is told from both of their points of view so we get the picture from both angles. This gives us insight into their lives but with the twists and unreliable characters does the reader know anything really? This always makes me curious and want to know what’s around the corner, so needless to say, I didn’t put this book down much!
This is my second book by this author and the second one I have thought was a superb read. She weaves a story that is captivating and so immersive. I was as invested in this one as much, if not more than her previous book.
With characters that you don’t know whether to trust, a plot that is cranking up from the start and revelations you don’t see coming. This is a fast-paced, page turning book that will have you up till all hours.
Forensic psychologist by day, novelist by night, Ellery Kane has been writing–professionally and creatively–for as long as she can remember. Real life really is stranger than fiction, and Ellery’s writing is often inspired by her day job. Ellery was previously selected as one of ten semifinalists in the MasterClass James Patterson Co-Author Competition, and she recently signed a three book deal with Bookouture for her new Rockwell and Decker mystery thriller series. The first book is scheduled for release in 2020.
