I’m so pleased to have The Santa Killer by Riss Greenwood on the blog today on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Thanks to Rachel, Ross Greenwood and Boldwood Books for my inclusion on the tour and the copy of this brilliant book.

The Santa Killer is coming to town…
One night less than two weeks before Christmas, a single mother is violently assaulted. It’s a brutal crime at the time of year when there should be goodwill to all. When DI Barton begins his investigation, he’s surprised to find the victim is a woman with nothing to hide and no reason for anyone to hurt her.
A few days later, the mother of the woman attacked rings the police station. Her granddaughter has drawn a shocking picture. It seems she was looking out of the window when her mother was attacked. And when her grandmother asks the young girl who the person with the weapon is, she whispers two words.
Bad Santa.
The rumours start spreading, and none of the city’s women feel safe – which one of them will be next?
He’s got a list. It’s quite precise. It won’t matter even if you’re nice.

Ross Greenwood is one of my favourite authors. He always writes a book that has me on the edge of my seat! I love his DI Barton series and The Santa Killer is the sixth and, very possibly, the final book in the series (believe me, Ross Greenwood has said this so many times. I am crossing my fingers he was just a bit bored again!)
We are back in Peterborough with DI Barton and the team. It’s coming up to Christmas and a woman has been attacked. The woman’s young daughter draws a picture which shows she saw the attack. It seems it was someone dressed as Santa Claus. As more attacks are reported from all various walks of life, Barton and the team struggle to find motives. Will they be able to find ‘Bad Santa’ before more victims come forward?
Told from Bartons’ and the killers’ perspectives, it is, as always, brilliant to be back with DI Barton. This story sees him getting some important news about his own future on a personal level. I always love the fact we see both sides of his life throughout this series. It makes Barton so realistic and relatable.
Every book by Ross Greenwood is always well written, exciting and with a plot that is a multi layered one, The Santa Killer is certainly that. The twists and turns has me glued to this book again! He never fails to deliver, even if this isn’t your run of the mill Christmas story, but hey I will let him off, for once!
If this is the end of the series definitely, it is fitting for sure. A thriller that thrilled to the end, packed full of suspense, tension and entertainment. I highly recommend DI Barton and his team!
