I begin with apologies, this post is late for my stop on the Finding Happiness At Heritage View by Helen Rolfe on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Thanks to both Rachel Gilbey and Boldwood Books for my place on the tour and the copy of the book.

Welcome back to Heritage Cove, the little village by the sea brimming with character, community and friendship. The perfect place to fall in love…
Running Heritage View Stables is everything Hazel ever dreamed of. She loves working with the horses and managing the business with her brother. But after a terrible incident, she’s not sure whether she’ll ever be able to put things back the way they were.
Gus is ready to start over. He’s moved him and his ten-year-old daughter Abigail to Heritage Cove, where he’s opening his own vet practice. Everything is falling into place, especially as he watches Abigail start to come out of her shell for the first time since the accident.
Neither Hazel nor Gus is looking for love, but could they each be what the other needs? And is happiness even a possibility when their pasts won’t let them go?
Join new friends and old, as summer comes to Heritage Cove.

This is the fifth book in the Heritage Cove series and the first time I have dipped into this series. I’m happy that as I read it I realised it was fine without having to read the rest of the series.
Such an uplifting read. We meet Hazel, the co-owner of Heritage View stables and Abigail, a young girl who has not long moved into the village with her dad, Gus. I found this such a heartwarming story about overcoming past hurts and fear.
Helen Rolfe has succeeded in weaving a story that’s full of such likeable and realistic characters. These along with gorgeous horses stole my heart. I loved the community feeling within this book, it makes me feel like Heritage Cove could be real, with the bakery and the tea room, I could really see myself with these characters in this village. The horses at the stables even had their own unique personalities as well which I loved.
Hazel and Abigails friendship was great to see. The fact that Hazel feels Abigail is such an inspirational girl to her is so lovely to witness. Hazel’s past plays a large part in her view and my heart went out to her for this. Helen Rolfe’s character development is so clear, especially with Hazel and Abigail’s friendship. This makes them feel so human, which adds so much to the story.
I finished this in one day and enjoyed every minute of my time in Heritage Cove with these vividly detailed characters and can’t wait to go back soon.
