I’m so happy to say I have A Leap Of Faith For The Cornish Midife on my blog today by Jo Bartlett. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for my invitation to the tour and also the copy of the book.

Midwife Izzy is devastated to learn that her beloved grandmother is dying. Abandoned as a baby by her own mother, her grandparents have been the only family Izzy has ever known and she wants to spend every last precious moment with them.
New locum vicar, Noah, is a wonderful support – kind, considerate and always there for Izzy whenever she needs a shoulder to cry on. But secretly Noah is battling his own doubts about his faith – how can he offer Izzy comfort if he doesn’t truly believe his own words?
When Izzy and Noah are brought together to support grieving parents, Noah reaches breaking point. He can’t stay in Port Agnes and live a lie. But Izzy is adamant it’s the only place she can be….
Will love find a way or will Izzy’s hopes of a future be dashed?

This is the fifth book in the Cornish Midwives series and the first book I have read of the series. As I found, it is easy to read as a standalone.
Izzy is a Midwife in Cornwall who was raised by her grandparents due to her mum not wanting her. Her grandmother, Ellen, is suffering with terminal cancer. She has a ‘bucket list’ that she wishes to attempt to fulfill before she passes away. One thing on her list is that Izzy and her grandparents stay on a houseboat for the summer.
There is also a new vicar in Port Agnes, Noah, a man struggling with his faith for various reasons. From his very first day’s in Port Agnes, Ellen has been a good friend to him. She also introduced him to Izzy. Over the summer Noah and Izzy come up against everything that could possibly happen to derail them. Will they be able to get through this together?
A story defined by loss and love. An emotional and touching tale that tugged on my heart strings. The characters are so authentic I felt like I could know them. The coastal setting is so vividly described that I am yearning to revisit Cornwall again! The community that Jo Bartlett has created took me back 20 years, to the communities I remember. The warmth just radiates of the pages. I loved how everyone pulled together for each other.
The research is clear from the start as well as the love and care Jo Bartlett pours into this book. I can say I wish I had discovered this series earlier, but all I can say is better late than never. A series I hope I get the time to read as I would love to get to know all the separate characters and their personal stories.
This is such a skilfully written book, with a rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to end. A touching tale with great characters and such a beautiful setting.
