Nina Kaye – One Night In Edinburgh @rararesources @canelo_co @NinaKayeAuthor #OneNightInEdinburgh #SharonBTB

I’m thrilled to be on the blog tour for One Night in Edinburgh by Nina Kaye on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Thanks to Rachel Gilbey and Canelo Books for my copy of the book.

One night. But how many second chances?

Heartbroken on Hogmanay, Steph wanders through the Edinburgh street party until she bumps into Jamie. He’s funny, attractive and clearly interested. In a word, he’s perfect – but she didn’t get his number. All she remembers is his lime and mango beer.
Determined to be reunited, Steph tracks him by a milk carton style campaign, sticking a message to his favourite beer across local pubs. Although eventually reunited, Jamie is frequently uncontactable and evasive, and Steph worries she’s on the path to heartbreak once more.

There’s a fine line between being patient and being gullible, and Steph’s reaching her limit. When a chance encounter with Jamie reveals his secret, she faces an even tougher decision. Should Steph give love another chance, or was one night in Edinburgh all she and Jamie were meant to have?

A funny and emotional romance for fans of Mhairi McFarlane, Beth O’Leary and Rosie Walsh.

This is the second book by Nina Kaye I have read. I saw the invite for One Night in Edinburgh and couldn’t wait to be able to start reading it. I found it another great book by this author that’s not just a feel good story but one that makes you think too.

Steph has just had her relationship breakdown down with the man she believed to be her soul mate. His shattering news almost makes Hogmanay unbearable…only almost. After going out, she meets Jamie and after a night to remember, they go their separate ways. They have no way to get in contact with each other, but surely if they found each other once, they can find their way back to each other?

I was truly entertained by the ways Steph did her very best to try to find Jamie. She did have some pretty original ideas and I was impressed with her ingenuity. When she finally finds him it comes to light that Jamie has his own secret that Steph wasn’t expecting.

This is a rom com that is a quick light read, but, that doesn’t mean there are no serious issues dealt with in these pages. Nina Kaye pulls this story together very well and I loved the funny moments too. The focus on relationships and friendships is a good one. We see just how close Steph stays with her ex, Connor. That’s just the stuff of dreams for me. Her family is another story and I didn’t think much of them.

A great rom com that would be brill as a film too. Great main character and the setting was brill for me. I so enjoyed reading about Edinburgh.
