T.G Reid- Dead Man’s Stone @tgreidbooks @Lovebookstours #DeadMansStone #LoveBooksTours #SharonBTB

Today I’m part of the book tour for TG Reid’s Dead Man’s Stone. Thanks to Love Books Tours and T.G Reid for my copy of the book.

Some secrets are worth killing for

When DCI Duncan Bone is contacted by a terminally-ill psychiatric patient and given clues linking a forty-year-old unsolved murder to high-profile public figures, he finds himself locked into a conspiracy at the very heart of the Scottish criminal and political establishment.

With his bosses stonewalling the investigation, lives under threat, and his career on the line, Bone faces a race against time to hunt down a group of men who will stop at nothing to cover their murderous crime.

Can DCI Bone catch the killer before the killing starts again?

Set among the dramatic hills and glens of Scotland’s Campsie Fells, Dead Man’s Stone is the third in a series of edge-of-your-seat crime thrillers that will keep you guessing right up to the nail-biting, heart-stopping climax.

Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, J.D. Kirk, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.

I have heard a lot about this author but haven’t read any of his books until this one. I didn’t realise it was Book 3 in the DCI Duncan Bone series. So I went into this with no idea. I did hope I would be able to get into it without wishing I hadn’t accepted my invitation to the tour.

It is set in Scotland’s Campsie Fells and I loved this striking setting. I enjoyed the fact it wasn’t in an urban setting, for a change. I found the characters, of which there are plenty for a new reader to get used to, well created. They each had their own unique part in the plot and I did take a few chapters to get to grips with everyone but it didn’t take as long as I thought it might

I did appreciate the humour running throughout, with the team. It made the darkness of the crimes they deal with a little lighter. I felt like this team had been working together almost forever. TG Reid has really developed them all well. The quality of his writing realy gave me the feeling I was with them, as they worked this investigation.

The plot was so fascinating, I was gripped all the way through as I was second guessing everything and everyone. I loved the twists and red herrings that were placed so well within the story.

Yet another series I am adding to my second to be read pile! What’s life without a few books in it, and excellent ones at that! A highly recommended read for me!
