Evie Hunter – The Chase @rararesources @BoldwoodBooks @Wendyswriter #TheChase #SharonBTB

Today I’m starting with apologies, yet again. My post is late for The Chase by Evie Hunter on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Thanks to both Rachel Gilbey and Boldwood Books for my copy of the book.

When stable girl, Farah Ash, is sacked from her job, her only concern is the beloved horses she cares for. Farah suspects foul play and is determined to expose the secrets and lies she’s uncovered – no matter what.

Self-made millionaire, Isaac Fernandez witnesses Farah’s shocking dismissal and senses immediately that she has uncovered something dangerous – perhaps even deadly. And his fears are confirmed when Farah is almost killed.

And as more threats come Farah’s way, it’s clear someone is out to silence her for good. Unless Farah and Isaac can uncover the truth and put a stop to the deadly chase – before it’s too late.

Evie Hunter is an author whose books I love to read. She always manages to tick all my boxes whatever she releases. As soon as I got my invite to this tour I was already really looking forward to this book. I just hoped she could keep up her excellent standards to make The Chase as excellent a read as her previous ones. I always wonder just why I even think about standards, I should have faith. The Chase was such a great revenge thriller!

Set In the horse racing world really made it a refreshing plot. I know nothing about this world, or anything that goes on in it. Farah is our main character and it’s looking like she knows of some shady stuff going on withing this world she is a part of.

This set the tone for me and I was so interested as to what would happen next. She feels she can’t trust anyone in her life as everyone has let her down. Then there is Isaac, can she trust him and why does she even think she can??

This is a mystery thriller that just keeps ramping up the suspense the more you read. I found myself on the edge of my seat on numerous occasions throughout. As always the characters are relatable and so realistic. I felt for Farah and hoped that, although they came from truly different backgrounds, that they could find a way.

I managed to read this in one sitting, only because it had me glued to the kindle. Such an addictive read with tension, mystery, romance and an intriguing plot. Evie Hunter has again proved that she can still make me hang on to her every word.
