Philippa Jane Keyworth – Lord of Worth @rararesources @pjkeyworth #LordofWorth #SharonBTB

I’m delighted to be hosting the blog tour for Lord of Worth on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Thank you to Rachel and Passalande Books for the copy of the book to give you my honest thoughts.

London 1776: Lord Worth is busying himself restoring his family fortunes and burying any feelings he still harbours for the woman who rejected his proposal.
The fact that the lady in question—Lady Rebecca Fairing—happens to be his sister’s best friend, his niece’s godmother, and present at every Societal gathering of consequence is… unfortunate.

Meanwhile Rebecca fears she made the wrong decision in rejecting James Worth, but when he assures her he won’t be renewing his proposal, she is forced to accept her choice. It doesn’t take long for the eligible Lord Worth to attract other suitors, among them Lady Sophia, daughter to Society’s most notorious gossip, Lady Goring.

Rebecca knows she must step aside and allow James to find happiness, but when she senses all is not as it seems in the Goring family, she can’t help but intervene.

As James and Rebecca work together to unearth Societal secrets, deal with scheming matriarchs, and face villainous highwaymen, they find themselves more in each other’s company than ever before.

Will they continue to bury their feelings for one another, or will they finally realise what it means to love?

The third book in The Ladies of Worth Series, Lord of Worth is my first foray into this Georgian England series. I am a history lover so I was hoping that jumping into the series as I have wouldn’t spoil my enjoyment of the story.

I was introduced to Lady Rebecca Fairing who refused a proposal of marriage previously from Lord James Worth. In this tale, Rebecca and James seem to be meeting regularly, during society events and family gatherings. She begins to see a side to him she never noticed before. This makes her wonder if she did the right thing. When he tells her he will not propose again, she is determined to bury her feelings. As Lady Goring, a notorious gossip begins to push Sophia, her daughter at James, Rebecca just HAS to get involved with nothing but love, of course!

I found this story a pacey one which immersed me in the late eighteenth century. I have been reading historical romances from the Viking era, so this book made a refreshing change. I found it a fun read with plenty of drama all the way. The characters are so unique, not all are likeable either, Lady Goring, for example. That woman is the epitome of nastiness for sure!

Lord of Worth was an unexpected little gem for me. A story of second chances, with the main character I enjoyed getting to know. It was a story that I wished I had read the first two books before this. It did work perfectly fine on its own, but I have a penchant for knowing the characters in a series. Their backstories always interest me.

A historical romance set in a period that was so interesting. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series now.
