This is the fourth book in a series but the first I have read. It’s fine to read as a standalone as I found. Lorraine Wilson is a new author to me, and I am really happy I did. I now have the other books to read, when I have time anyway.
Daisy decides to up sticks due to her disastrous love life. She leaves her job and flees to France to her friends’ Farmhouse. It’s a guest house that Poppy runs that is warm and welcoming, everything Daisy needs, in fact, more than everything as there are dogs too! I love animals in a story. Daisy is a dog lover and when offered a dog sitting job, well, that’s perfect. Especially seeing as Anton is as much of an attraction as his dogs are to her.
I enjoyed getting to know Daisy in this lovely story. Lorraine Wilson has created such great characters AND animal characters. The dogs! I was in my element with their personalities and their antics all the way through.
The research she has done to make this such an all – round entertaining book, is there to be seen, throughout. What starts as a gentle, romance soon heats up to bring a bit more than ‘gentle romance’! These scenes are woven in so well that they are almost a highlight, or is that just me?!
Between the dogs and the romance, this was such a light, happy and enjoyable read. I found myself smiling throughout. I adore a book that can have that effect on me.
