Kerry Kaya – The Reckoning @rararesources @BoldwoodBooks @KerryKayaWriter #boldwoodblogger #TheReckoning #SharonBTB

I’m thrilled to say today I am part of the book tour for The Reckoning by Kerry Kaya. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for my copy of the book to take part today.

An eye for an eye…

Once the top dog, Danny Mckay has walked away from his old gangland life. He’s on the straight and narrow now, looking forward to settling down and living a quiet life.

But trouble seems to follow Danny. And when his own family is caught up in a shocking event, Danny is dragged back into the gangland world, hell bent on revenge.

Danny’s determined to make someone pay, but the rules are different this time around – old friends are enemies, and Danny doesn’t know who he can trust.

And as Danny gets closer to the truth, he realises that the consequences of his own actions could destroy everything – and everyone – that he loves.

This is the fourth book in the Carter brother series and the first one I have had the pleasure to read. It was so easy to pick up the story. There was no confusion from starting part way through a series. I have read various Kerry Kaya books and they have placed her in my gangland crime thriller authors list that I love. She easily lines up alongside, Martina Cole, Kimberly Chambers… I have too many to mention. You get the idea though.

Danny McKay has gone straight, now a legitimate businessman. His gang life is well behind him, that is until old grudges resurface. Danny and his family end up being caught up in a shocking event, which drags him back to the life he thought he had left behind. He is a man that won’t rest until someone pays…but what will be sacrificed to exact his revenge?

As always Kerry Kaya introduces you to characters that are so fleshed out that you feel like you know them after about ten minutes. She also creates great characters to hate. They are all such interesting characters and just that adds a dimension to the storyline.

This is yet another raw and gritty gangland crime thriller that is a brilliant story, with plenty of action all the way through. This is one of the books where the pages almost turn themselves as the twists and turns keep the reader so gripped always wanting to know what’s next.

Kerry Kaya keeps writing excellent gangland crime thrillers and her standards are very high. This is yet another brilliant example of her skilful dissertation. As long as Kerry keeps writing I will keep reading her work. If you enjoy a fast-paced, gritty story this one is for you.
