I am so happy to have Blood Pact by Heather Atkinson on the blog today. Massive thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the copy of the book.

To survive, they’ll need to stick together…
After the defeat of the rival Gordon and Thompson families, the Blood Brothers’ reputations as feared lieutenants of the McVay clan are firmly established. The Gallowburn has become an untouchable stronghold in their capable hands.
However, danger rears its head in another form – Jamie’s deadliest foe, Cameron Abernethy. Still fighting to be released from prison, Cameron decides to use the Lawson family, the Blood Brothers’ biggest rivals, to discover his daughter’s whereabouts.
With his enemies getting closer, and the police on his tail too, Jamie has some impossible choices to make. This is his last chance to live the life he’s dreamed of with the woman he loves, but first he’s got to make sure he’s not caught or killed…

The fourth book in the Gallowburn series and I am lucky enough to have read every book. This is a gritty and hard hitting gangland series. I am so happy to be back with the Blood Brothers on the Scottish Gallowburn estate.
When I discovered there was a new book I did wonder if Heather Atkinson could keep up the standard set by the previous three books. Blood Pact is, if it is possible, even better than the previous book. I really couldn’t tear myself away.
Heather’s characters have grown over the series and Jamie, the complex character who is the leader of the Blood Brothers, just wants to be with Allegra, his girlfriend but that will never happen if Cameron gets his way. He is on the war path and does not care how he gets his revenge!
Part of this series charm is the banter between the Blood Brothers and that is just as good as always. Providing light moments throughout, I found my self laughing with them. I felt like I was back with the gang again, and I realise, I say this every time I review a book in this series. I just can’t help it. Heather’s writing makes it so you feel like you are alongside these lads as they battle their way through life on the Gallowburn estate.
A book that kept me guessing and the ending, well, that was a jaw dropping moment for me. The book is pretty fast paced and then as the story unfolds, boy does it pick up even more. I was on the edge of my seat most of this book just attempting to second guess what was coming next. Such an adrenaline inducing series this is!
The danger and violence in this series is true to life for kids these days. The gangs and the violence may seem like fiction but we see on the news almost everyday some 16 year old lad being killed. Heather Atkinson, translates true life into fiction so well and I will miss this series when it’s over.
If you enjoy gritty and hardhitting gangland books pick up this series, you will not regret it!
