The Serial Killers Girl is written by L.H Stacey. She is an author whose work I have read and blogged previously. I loved that book so much so when this tour dropped in my inbox I jumped at the chance. I just hoped it would be as good as her other book… well read on and see.
Lexi is the daughter of a serial killer and hides it from all around her. Her biological mum is murdered and she decides to run back to her childhood home, Lindisfarne. What she doesn’t know is Lindisfarne is not the safe place she thinks it is.
I have to say it took me hardly any time to read, one sitting, I raced through this faster than I expected. I couldn’t put it down.
Every turn of the page the tension cranked up a bit more and I found I was second guessing everysingle person. Lexi herself is an unreliable main character. Her thoughts and decisions aren’t really logical or rational at all. This created a book that had me on edge throughout.
The setting was perfect, an island that was so atmospheric which added to the overall mystery and suspense. This all made Lexi’s fears of being followed more real. As the story unfolded I was gripped and then, the author brought a twist that was truly unexpected .
A thriller that is atmospheric and with enough tension you could cut it with a knife. A book I thoroughly enjoyed.
