Hi everyone! Today I’m thrilled to say I have Dissatisfied by Ksenija Nikolova on the blog. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Kingsley Publishers for the copy of the book to take part today.

Who is to be blamed for a woman’s unhappiness?
Margot’s unhappiness is contrary to what you might expect, considering that she lives in Paris and is married to a handsome, successful man she loves. However, as time passes, she feels more certain about her emptiness and realizes how little time her husband Arthur has for her. Finally, she decides to leave him, but then something changes. Not only does Margot not know her husband as well as she thought she did, but she also comes to see that she didn’t even know herself that deeply.
Margot’s life starts changing when she discovers countless new things about her marriage, which also reawakens old traumas.
But have these signs always been there?
Has Margot’s journey been waiting for her long before she became aware of it, and can her marriage be saved?
Margot is surprised to discover Arthur knew her much better than she ever thought possible.

Dissatisfied is my second book by Ksenija Nikolova I have read. All The Men Love Leah was the first book and I enjoyed that one,so I definitely wanted to be part of this books journey also.
This author is so skilled in making the reader go in an emotional journey with her characters and this book is another example of that. We meet Margot, a woman who isn’t happy with her marriage or their life together in Paris. She pens a number of letters to her husband, Arthur, pouring all her thoughts and emotions into them explaining what she feels is wrong. Ksenija Nikolova writes in a way that makes you feel everything Margot is going through, it is almost palpable.
Margot is not a character that I found likable, although I found her situation one that was quite relatable as she recovered from issues with her mental health. I almost felt proud when she began to work for a local charity. Her colleagues do help her when they gave her well deserved recognition and much needed gratitude. This bolsters her confidence and we see her outlook improve so much, it was lovely to read.
A novel that feels so personal as the reader experiences Margots issues and see her move forward in her life. Ksenija Nikolova has cleverly written a novel that I feel quite a few people out there will be able to relate too. Everybody goes through some type of crisis in themselves at some time or another l, as Margot does in Dissatisfaction.

Author Bio

Ksenija Nikolova is a Macedonian fiction author. She is the author of six books, and this is her second novel translated into English. Her work is also translated into Bulgarian and Russian.
She says people inspire her, and she thinks of art as an ice breaker that pushes boundaries and changes the way they see things.
The world has become very judgmental and ignorant, and Ksenija believes that writing stories that smash discrimination and stereotypes can make us better and happier.
Ksenija is currently working on a new novel she is very excited about. She is writing it in English, and she is enjoying every step of the process.
