Book number six in the Detective Casey White series by B.R Spangler. This book sees Casey called out to a body of a girl found on the beach. What begins as a simple murder case turns into something more complicated as the dead girls sister is also missing. The last place they were seen was at a travelling fun fair, could it be connected to the fair, or is there something even darker going on?
I was back with Casey, so interested in what was happening. B.R Spangler has created a great series and five books in I was still holding my breath at times. The pace was perfect and returning to Casey, Jericho and what is left of the team, I felt like I was back with friends. That’s how well they are developed. Casey has a new partner, Tracy, and their relationship as a duo is not as in sync as Casey would like. Again, the author brought a natural feel to the dynamics of their working partnership.
The determination of Casey to ensure the dead girl is the only body they find pours of the page. We see more murders which we see members of the old team coming back together, which is good to see. A murder too close to home does rock their foundations.
Another gripping read which didn’t have a quiet moment, the action was constant along with the suspense. I always love returning to Casey White, every book is different to the last. Each as fascinating as the other and I am looking forward to see what B.R Spangler has in store for Casey next.
