I am beyond thrilled to say I have Lisa Sell and her brand new release The Watcher on the blog today. Massive thanks to Red Dragon Publishing and Lisa Sell for the copy of the book the be able to take part!

The Watcher is a psychological thriller that will keep you hooked from the first page until the last

Harmony House has a voyeur. Someone with hidden cameras throughout the building. The residents are unaware they’re being watched, especially the ones up to no good.

I spy with my little eye; someone is going to die…

A psychological thriller by Lisa Sell is a reason for a party almost! I have read and reviewed both her previous books and I must say, I am quite an ardent fan of her work. As soon as I knew she had a brand new thriller I was sat on my hands waiting to be able to read it. I automatically knew that I would love this story and I wasn’t wrong.

The cover alone is enough to make you want to see what it’s all about. The blurb just finishes it off. I was so eager to see if Lisa had managed to weave a story as good as her previous books. I won’t leave you hanging, she has.

Straight from the first chapter I had could feel the creepy and sinister vibes to this story. Just the thought of someone watching me constantly gives me the eebie jeebies never mind anything else.

We meet Sophie, she has had a miscarriage and the stress is causing her marriage to fracture so she makes the decision to go and do a bit of housesitting to escape. She moves into Harmony House and right from the start she is being watched. As she gets to know the other tenants she starts to feel more uneasy as time passes. The question is, who is watching her?

The Watcher is a psychological thriller that is most definitely a book that puts the reader on the edge, constantly. Told from the perspectives of Sophie mainly, with chapters from ‘the watcher’ interspersed throughout, it ramps up the tense, eerie story as the unknown Watcher could be anyone in the building. Every character in this book have their unique traits and personalities and issues. I felt anyone of them could be the voyeur, I was kept in suspense throughout guessing and changing my mind constantly.

Such a intricately plotted and well written thriller that brings serious issues of today to the forefront. Miscarriage, mental health, abuse in all its forms, Lisa Sell has treated every issue sensitively and with care as she shows how these things affect everyday life and the people around us.

As I read this book I was growing more uneasy as the story unfolded, Lisa Sell has  written an atmospheric, tense and definitely creepy thriller that has enough twists, turns and red herrings to keep the reader wanting one more chapter. The fact that it is written with short chapters does lend to that “I need to just read on for a bit longer” feeling. I love this type of book as I end up reading all day!! Yes I did, and I loved it!

If you love a book that grabs you immediately and doesn’t let go, with a story that has well developed, unique characters and a plot that is as creepy as can be. Just read this book. Don’t blame me if you are so creeped out at times you get goosebumps…that’s the beauty of this book.

About the Author

Lisa Sell

Lisa Sell is a thriller, crime, and mystery author. She is an avid reader with a to-be-read tower rather than a pile.

Music rocks Lisa’s world too, particularly a good eighties tune. If lost, you’ll find her in a DeLorean, headed for her favourite decade.

Lisa’s cats try to help her write but often fail. The furry pests demand attention and desk space. Lisa is currently applying for cat wrangling to be recognised as an Olympic sport.
