Today it is turn to host the blog tour for Keeper’s Lodge by Tracy Martin-Summers on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Thanks to Rachel and Tracy Martin-Summers for the copy of the book to take part today.
‘Picture postcard’ were the words Detective Sergeant Mike Brugge chose to describe Keeper’s Lodge when they first set eyes on the stunning Scandinavian -style retreat, nestling proudly in the mountains.
They were investigating the disappearance of Rachel Blossom, a psychiatric patient with severe mental health issues. Rachel had vanished and was now classed as a missing person.
The lodge in its idyllic setting, appeared to be her last known place of residence which, according to the website portrayal, was providing the final steps towards independent living.
How was it that she had completely slipped off the grid without a trace? Had her multi personality disorder outwitted the medical profession into thinking she was of sound mind, was it just a series of blunders by the nursing team, or was there something more sinister going on?
Follow Detective Sergeant Mike Brugge, Detective Sergeant Paul Osman and Detective Constable Mel Brugge, as they delve deep into the underworld of Keeper’s Lodge.

I was lucky enough to have read the two previous books in the trilogy that Keeper’s Lodge belongs too. This is a trilogy that I would advise you to read in order, to follow the story and the characters too.
I loved each book of this trilogy and Keeper’s Lodge was no exception either. Tracy Martin-Summers has a way of writing that pulls you right into the story and ensuing investigation with DS Mike Brugge, DS Paul Osman and DC Mel Brugge. It was great to catch up with these three coppers.
Another well written and original story that had me on edge as soon as I started reading. As immersive as the rest of the series with writing that was so atmospheric, giving me goosebumps as the story unfolded.
This final book has the team investigating the disappearance of Rachel, a woman with mental health issues. Alongside this there is also a long running story thread involving Mel that Tracy Martin-Summers brings to its conclusion. An intriguing story that takes the reader on a journey that is never predictable. I couldn’t guess which way the story was going to go at any point.
The author has clearly done so much research into mental health issues to get this right. It was a fascinating read for me and one that had me reading far past my bedtime. Every time I planned to go to sleep something happened and I just had to carry on reading. The amount of red herrings, twists and turns in this story had me reading it in no time.
A superb conclusion to a trilogy that I wish wasn’t ending. I do hope we get to see more of the Brugge’s at some point in the future.
