Today I’m super excited to say I am on the Book tour for The Lake Templeton Murders by HS Burney on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Thanks to both Rachel and the author for my copy of the book to take part today.
A body washes up on the shores of Lake Templeton, a small town on the coast of Vancouver Island. Sharon Reese, the victim, was a dedicated government employee. Everyone liked her, but no one knew much about her. Was she hiding something? Maybe a questionable past riddled with scandal. As Fati valiantly unravels the knots, another body is found on the shore. Is it the same killer? And can Fati stop them before they strike again?
A murder mystery always sounds good to me and the synopsis of The Lake Templeton Murders had me so interested in reading it.
A female lead character who is strong, really fierce and sassy too is always great for me.
We meet ex copper Fati Rizvi who has turned P.I. she decides to help when a body of a woman is washed ashore of Lake Templeton a town on the coast of Vancouver Island. No one is sure whether its murder, suicide, or even a simple accident. Fati makes it her mission to get to the bottom of it all. What she didn’t realise until she begins her investigation, is that secrets seem to be the overwhelming way of life in this community.
This is a great read. I was really on the edge of my seat, a proper murder mystery, secrets everywhere Fati turned made this such an engaging and captivating story.
HS Burney has skillfully spun a story of multiple threads and woven them together in a way that keeps the reader hooked. The characters,which include several females, are all from different backgrounds but are all strong and created very well. I connected with Fati as she did her absolute best to find the answers she needed to solve this investigation.
I found the sense of place that the author described, excellent. The vivid imagery really transported me right there and the atmospheric story had me guessing as I read.
My first book by this author and I would love to read more in the future, a great murder mystery.
