I’m happy to say I am bringing something a little different to the blog today on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources, Cook it Eat it Live it by Jo Kenny is the book in question and I must thank Rachel Gilbey and Kingsley Publishers for copy of the book to take part today.
Cook it Eat it Live it is written by Jo Kenny, food writer and owner of GirlEatsWorld.co.uk

In this first publication, Jo offers readers a vibrant and varied collection of recipes inspired by both travel and family ties to the UK, Japan, Guyana, the Caribbean.
This delicious collection of every day recipes satisfies appetites for light bites, indulgent dinners, fresh sides and delicious desserts. You’ll find a spectrum of dishes from rich, earthy flavours to fresh aromatics giving you meals to enjoy year round. All recipes are firm favourites in Jo’s own household and cooked regularly. This is family style, every day inspiration to ensure no more boring dinners.
Recipes are punctuated with stories of travel, food inspirations and a personal philosophy of enjoying food unapologetically. Cook it Eat it Live it is about finding happiness in the little things and injecting some joy into every day life through wholesome, exciting meals.

I am not one to really look at cook books. I have various WeightWatcher ones which I have skimmed and never used. Cook it Eat it Live it by Jo Kenny is totally different. There are yummy looking recipes of all different food and also we are told where she traveled. I enjoyed reading about the locations and the recipes she discovered while there.
I am not a cook, well not one that sees a recipe and jumps to the kitchen . This book is interesting from the beginning. I loved the pictures and did feel like I was almost dribbling. The uniqueness of this cookbook did catch my imagination so it had me reading and looking at the recipes.
Jo Kenny has even included a section on how to grow your own food. It even has a chart to say when to sow and harvest what you have grown. I have grown strawberries before and it was successful. The fact our youngest child picked them as they played in the back garden, and next doors kids nicked them through the fence, meant I never managed to grow some for the strawberries and cream I planned! So it may come in handy (the chart that is) at some point.
For a cookery book this was surprisingly entertaining for me. Jo Kenny has managed to catch a non Foodie’s interest and for that I applaud her. A great book for people who love cooking and those of us who are overly keen too!
