Today I’m absolutely over the moon to say Jane Badrock is back! The Woman Who Knew Faces is on the blog today. Thanks to ZooLoo’s Book Tours and Question Mark Press for the copy of this book to bring you my thoughts today.
One tenacious cop. One amazing artist.
There’s a big operation underway and DS Karen Thorpe is feeling left out.
Then she meets Emma, with the talent of memorising faces, and Karen’s
reenergised with her potential crime-solving contribution.
But she’s not the only one.
A body turns up. Karen’s finally called up to work with the Met on the operation.
But Emma’s gone missing.
Is it connected? Where is she? Who can she trust?
It’s a race against time as the new team try to catch a major crime ring
before they can carry out their horrific activities

The Woman Who Knew Faces is the third book in the Karen Thorpe series. I have read every one of them and have to say, right now, if you haven’t read any and you love a thriller…you really don’t know what you are missing!
Every single book by Jane Badrock is unique in some way or other. She has an amazing ability to bring something different, something a little of the beaten track and create an amazingly addictive read. This book is no exception. She has again given Karen Thorpe something out of the ordinary to handle and created a story that is an absolute corker.
Karen Thorpe has decided she needs Emma Cadrose, an autistic woman who draws for the local court, for a murder case she is on. With an exceptional memory for faces she is the woman of the title. We see Emma go missing and Karen has to discover if her disappearance is linked to the murder case and try to find her before Emma is the next body to turn up.
Jane Badrocks character development is so good. I have witnessed Karen Thorpe grow from a touchy and short tempered woman into a softer, hardworking, caring copper. I have always had a soft spot for Karen Thorpe and this book just cemented her place in my heart. She reminds me of myself at times. She is always putting her foot in it with her mouth. I do the same, and I always think I need to put my brain into gear before I open my mouth sometimes! That’s all Karen needs…but she is like me, she never will!
I think Emma is another character I need to see again, this woman has burrowed under my skin already, autism is close to my heart, so I felt for Emma immediately.
Jane Badrock has done it again! A fabulous plotline, well developed characters that are so real to me, with twists I never saw coming. I really didn’t want to leave Karen Thorpe’s world and bring myself back to my ordinary life…but that would mean again, starving my youngest child, so I tore myself away to make food and I rushed back to my book.

I would highly recommend this for anyone who loves a great suspense thriller that’s a fast paced with pages that almost turn themselves!

Author Bio

Jane writes novels, short stories and poems, usually with a good dose of humour in them. She probably owes it all to her late grandmother who, she’s just found out, also wrote short stories and poems. She tends to get an idea and then run with it whether it be a 100 word short story or an 80 thousand word novel. It all depends on the voices in her head at the time…
