Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Sofi Laporte for my invitation to host the blog tour for Lady Ludmilla’s Accidental Letter, and for the copy of the book to enable me to take part. All views and opinions s are expressly my own.
A resolute spinster. An irresistible rake. One accidental letter… Can love triumph over this hopeless muddle in the middle of the London season?
Lady Ludmilla is mortified. Though the spinster extraordinaire knows it is foolish, she has fallen head-over-heels for the amiable man with whom she’s been secretly corresponding, and that cannot be. When she sets out to uncover his identity, her world shatters. For her best friend Addy turns out to be none other but London’s worst rogue—the man who has ruined her engagement to someone else ten years earlier.
Lord St.Addington is perturbed. The wicked Viscount is developing a marked tendre for a spinster, and that cannot be. She might be mistaking him for someone he is not, or, what is worse, know precisely who he is. As London’s worst hellrake, he has a role to maintain, a charade to play. A depraved heart like his surely can’t be falling in love…least of all with a plain, outspoken spinster.
Determined to discover the truth behind the man she loves, Lu does what she does best: she sits down and writes a letter…
If you crave a humorous romp with witty banter and surprising twists, you will love Sofi Laporte’s charming masquerade.

I loved the book cover for this book, such gorgeous colours! That alone was enough to have me accept my invitation. This Regency Romance has characters that definitely entertained me. It’s full of humour, and I read it all in one go.
We meet Lu and Addy. Two people who have written to each other for years. The correspondence started because Ludmilla initially wrote to her friend but received a reply saying that her friend had moved from Addy, the new resident. Their friendship is a scandalous one for the time but it goes on until Lu visits London for the season she decides it may be time to meet Addy.
Viscount St Addington is a well-known rake…maybe. In life, people make up their minds and believe what they want to. Adrian St. Addington made his mind up to just leave everyone to it and live with the lie they all believe. Well, as far as it goes anyway, He still keeps some secrets close to his chest until Lu brings them to the surface.
Sofi Laporte keeps the reader in suspense as the mystery of who Addy actually plays out. Along with the humour and the chemistry between Lu and Addy, this is a light-hearted and funny story. Lu and Addy are both people who struggle with the picture that society have of them, but together, they could handle their true self’s and be comfortable with themselves.
The twists are an added bonus to the story. Addy and who he actually is, creates such a mystery, and that mystery is kept up until the unpredictable ending.
I so enjoyed this book and its characters. I even surprised myself over just how much I invested in the characters and their lives. The comedy was so good and the depiction of Regency England sublime. I am looking forward to the next book for sure.
