Lizzie Lane – Heaven and Hell for the Tobacco Girls|@rararesources| @BoldwoodBooks| @baywriterallat1#HeavenandHellfortheTobaccoGirls #rararesources #boldwoodbooks

Another Boldwood Books tour for today. The latest instalment of Heaven and Hell for the Tobacco Girls by the amazing Lizzie Lane. Published yesterday and on blog tour as well. Thanks to Rachel Gilbey of Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for my copy of the book to take part in this fabulous book tour.

Bridget Milligan has donned a uniform and joined the nursing services where she becomes intrigued with the miracles of modern medicine. She’s also torn between family loyalty, her new career and Lyndon O’Neill, the love of her life. Is it too impossible to hope that everything will come out right in the end?

Phyllis Harvey is still serving in Malta where she sees the casualties of war first hand. Finally it seems like Phyllis is blessed with true love, but fate can sometimes be a rocky road and nothing is that certain.

Maisie Miles is left holding the home front at the tobacco factory but with the sudden death of her grandmother finds herself once more alone in the world. However, thanks to a substantial inheritance, she is able to extend a helping hand to a friend in desperate need.

There are tears and laughter, goodbyes and new arrivals along with the hope that new beginnings are not far over the horizon.

The fourth book of this marvellous series that is set in the era of WWWII. A historical fiction saga that brings us back to Bridget, Phillis, Maisie, and all their friends. This is a series I love. I have read every book and love returning to catch up with everyone.

We pick up in 1943, where the last book ended. They have all gone their separate ways. Phyllis is in Malta, has fallen in love, and believes he is the one. Bridget is going into the Civil Nursery Auxilliary. Maisie is the only one still at home working in the tobacco factory. She finds her grandmother’s body in her parlour. The inheritance she gains makes her wonder what her path in life will be.

Heaven and Hell for the Tobacco Girls is an emotional tale that encompasses every emotion. There is grief, sadness, love, joy, and anger running throughout.

As always, Lizzie Lane has kept the quality of her characters to notch. They are so realistic and well developed that whenever a new book is released, I always feel like I’m back with my mates. That is a testament to Lizzie Lane’s writing. Four books, and I still love everyone of those women. I want to know what’s going on in their worlds genuinely and jump for joy, almost when a new book is out.

The love the women have for each other is so heartwarming, through hell or highwater they cling on to each other. Lizzie always brings drama, heartbreak, and sometimes brutal scenes to every book to show how much people come together in a crisis. A series that encompasses the best in human nature (and some of the lesser parts also). I am always so immersed whichever Tobacco Girls book I pick up. Heaven and Hell for the Tobacco Girls is as great as the rest of the series.

This is a series for any historical fiction lover who enjoys a story that transports you through the years with characters that could be your best friends. Highly recommended read from Sharon Beyond The Books!
