Melissa Baldwin – Thanks For The Love

Today is the beginning of a triple book tour for the Thankful Series. I start my triple posting with Thanks For the Love, and I must thank Rachel’s Random Resources and Melissa Baldwin for my invitation and the copy of the books to take part.

Fans of the Golden Girls will love this modern, romantic comedy twist! Please note, this novella was originally part of the Love in the City box set.
When your life crumbles around you, it’s hard to find something to be thankful for. Nevertheless, Gabby Marshall is determined to start anew in sunny Miami. New city, new job, and two new interesting roommates bring lots of new opportunities for a fresh start.
As well as some challenges and surprises.
Gabby’s putting her heart and soul into her new career, without the distraction of love getting in the way. Yet she keeps crossing paths with the gorgeous and welcoming Theo Jorgenson. Maybe Gabby could make one little exception and allow Theo in … except her new roommate and Theo are sworn enemies.
Life in Miami could be promising … or it could fall apart. Again.

A series that begins with this particular story, Thanks for the Love. An uplifting romantic comedy all about starting over after a major disaster has unravelled your life.

Gabby was planning her dream wedding in Orlando… until she discovers that her best friend and her fiancé are having an affair and have been for the past year. She makes a massive decision to uproot her life and gains a new job in Miami as a real estate agent. Everything slots into place, and off she goes!

Work is firmly at the forefront of her mind. She has no plans for romance in any way,  that is until she falls out of a hammock and ends up being introduced to Theo, a gorgeous guy who happens to be a neighbour. That’s it then, Gabbys goal is forgotten. Theo is everything she could want and more. Will he be able to change her life?

A story that is so much fun as well as having great characters. This book does set the scenes for the trilogy and does it well. I could have read about Gabby, Theo, and the cast of characters surrounding their maybe romance for longer than the book actually is. I was really happy to know I had the next book to carry on reading at least.

I appreciated that Melissa Baldwin brought the ups and downs in life but mainly focused on the ups. The characters, especially Gabby, were all relatable. I mean, who hasn’t had a bad relationship? Who isn’t accident prone?(just me then?) The setting made me jealous too, just gorgeous parts of America, Miami, and Orlando. I sat in the dreary UK and could almost feel the Miami sun on my skin.

There are times when I really need to just read something that isn’t too heavy and makes me smile. This book did exactly that, as well as bringing a character that endeared herself to me so much. I feel like I have made new friends reading this book. A novella that entertained me so much.
