Liz Fielding – Redeemed By Her Midsummer Kiss

Today, I am on the blog tour for a Mills & Boon True Love Book by Liz Fielding. Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and Mills & Boon for the copy of the book.

Escape to the English countryside with Liz Fielding’s emotional and uplifting summer romance.

An escape to the country

A kiss to reawaken them both

Honeysuckle Rose finds much-needed solace in her great aunt’s garden. But her peace is threatened by her distracting and brooding neighbour, Lucien Grey. Once a high-flying news reporter, Lucien returned from the front line a changed man. Honey can see that beneath his frosty exterior is a heart waiting to be thawed. Can their unexpected but impossible-to-ignore midsummer kiss be the beginning of a fresh start…together?

Liz Fielding isn’t an author whose books I am familiar with until I accepted this invitation from Rachel. So I didn’t know what to expect, or even if I would enjoy the book.

I can now say that I opened my Kindle to read, and I didn’t look up until I had finished it. A contemporary romance novel that introduces us to Honey and Lucien.

Honeysuckle Rose is a descendant of the famous Rose botanical family. A nurse who has worked in war torn places abroad. Her experiences have left their mark on her. She finds solace after she moves into her Great Aunts cottage with the garden there. Until the new neighbour ruins the hard work she has put into it.

Lucien Grey, a news reporter who has risked everything on the front line to report the news, has moved to the village that Honey lives in. All he needs and wants is peace and quiet. He is quite happy to be alone; he isn’t bothered about being neighbourly and doesn’t need friends. This is quite a good job, seeing as Honey is after his head on a plate and NOW!

These two find themselves thrown together and end up spending quite some time together. We see the attraction between them becoming too strong not to give in to. Will these two be able to help each other mend and have a beautiful future as a couple? Only time will tell.

Such a beautifully written contemporary romance. Liz Fielding’s characters are two damaged people who both needed the right person to help them overcome the memories and traumas they have experienced.

I enjoyed this heartwarming and romantic story with characters I really got invested in. Her settings of the gorgeous English countryside made me want to visit the village Honey and Lucien live in. There is such a poignancy to this story that it made a lovely change to be able to just relax and allow the magic of second chances in life wash over me and suck me into this world.

In conclusion, this is an exquisite romance, with beautifully developed characters that you root for immediately. An emotional story that leaves you wanting to cry with happiness. Liz Fielding is an expert in spinning a book you won’t want to put down.
