Today I am so happy to say I am part of Isabella May’s book tour for The Cocktail Bar on behalf of Rachel’s Random Resources. Massive thanks to Rachel and Isabella May for my gifted copy of the book to bring you my views.
Rock star, River Jackson, is back in his hometown of Glastonbury to open a cocktail bar… and the locals aren’t impressed.
Seductive Georgina is proving too hot to handle; band mate, Angelic Alice, is messing with his heart and his head; his mum is a hippie-dippy liability; his school friends have resorted to violence – oh, and his band manager, Lennie, AND the media are on his trail.
But River is armed with a magical Mexican elixir which will change the lives of three lucky people. Once the Mexican wave of joy takes a hold of the town, he’s glad he didn’t lose his proverbial bottle.
Pity he hasn’t taken better care of the real one…

The Cocktail Bar is part of the Foodie Romance Journeys, and they can be read as standalone titles. The characters and themes do run through some of the books, but they all work perfectly as stories in their own right. I have read some but not everyone, and I am looking forward to reading the books I am missing.
A book that is full of cocktails, love, and humour. Another Isabella May story that enchanted me again! I fell in love with her books after reading one of the other books in this set. The Cocktail Bar just continues the journey; in fact, I love that the set is called Foodie Romance Journeys as I feel that’s exactly what you go on with her books.
River returns home, leaving his rockstar life to set up his dream cocktail bar. He has his magic elixir that brings happiness to three people who drink it. He soon finds himself right in the middle of Georgina and Alice! Two truly different women who I liked. This brings us drama, too.
This is not an average romance story, but this IS Isabella May; none of her stories are average. Her characters are again fully fleshed out, and of course, some of these characters do appear in the other books.
Her storytelling carries on being top-notch. I have not read a bad book yet, and don’t I will. Every time I start one of her books, I am drawn straight into the characters’ lives. By the time I was at the end, I really felt like I knew them. Yet another Isabella May book that I definitely recommend.

Author Bio –
Isabella May lives in (mostly) sunny Andalusia, Spain with her husband, daughter and son, creatively inspired by the mountains and the sea. She grew up on Glastonbury’s ley lines and loves to feature her quirky English hometown in her stories.
After a degree in Modern Languages and European Studies at UWE, Bristol (and a year working abroad in Bordeaux and Stuttgart), Isabella bagged an extremely jammy and fascinating job in children’s publishing… selling foreign rights for novelty, board, pop-up and non-fiction books all over the world; in every language from Icelandic to Korean, Bahasa Indonesian to Papiamento!
All of which has fuelled her curiosity and love of international food and travel – both feature extensively in her cross-genre novels, fused with a dollop of romcom, and a sprinkle of magical realism.
Isabella is also a Level 4 Pranic Healer and a stillbirth mum.
