Today, I am on the blog tour for an anthology of travel stories. Wish You Were Here by Alyson Sheldrake and various authors. Thank you to Anne Cater of Random Things Tours and Alyson Sheldrake for my place on the tour and the gifted copy of this book.

“I must send a postcard back home.”
“Hang on a minute, I need to take a photograph of this.”
Favourite holidays and special travel memories are shared in this anthology featuring twenty award-winning and top travel memoir authors.
We all have that one holiday that stands out in our minds, that one break or vacation we will never forget. Whether it is a childhood ‘bucket and spade’ family holiday, the ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ dream destination, your first trip abroad or the city where you first fell in love, the memories are still there today.
The authors in this anthology bring out their postcards and photo albums and invite you to join them as they reminisce about their travels.
Maybe they will inspire you to book your next holiday too.

This is the third book in a series, and my first foray into travelling around the world with these types of stories. This book contains twenty stories, of which one is written by Alyson Sheldrake, including one from Alyson Sheldrake, and she writes the introduction too.
One of the best parts of reading an anthology is that you can discove *oyh7vr new authors. Each of the stories follows each author as they share their holiday memories. The globetrotting I did over a few days does mean I can almost say I am well travelled! Stories from Kenya, France, the Galapagos Islands, and even the UK. The uniqueness of each story means that there is no chance of being bored. ¹

The contributions to the book range from familiar authors to lesser known ones. I enjoyed discovering their work, and I did find some of their books that I plan to read as and when I can. I do enjoy reading an anthology as it allows you to just dip in the book when you have five minutes. I didn’t really just spend five minutes, though. Every story took me through a range of emotions, and I couldn’t tear myself away. This really is the sign of a great read.
I wouldn’t normally read this type of book, but to say I am happy to have read it is an understatement. I never thought I would enjoy this book, but I read these stories that are actually real memories from very real people, and I felt almost privileged to be able to peek into their lives.
Now, I am going to sulk for a while as I won’t be able to go on holiday for a while, and this book is certainly one who gets you rarin!0g to go away.

It is a highly entertaining book and one that allows you to experience things that you may never have before. Sit down, get comfy and enjoy your trips!
