The third cosy mystery to feature Ruby and Hudson. In what is the eighteenth Little Duck Pond Cafeseries of books. I was drawn to this due to the adorable cover of this book and am so happy I got to enjoy this story. First up, the synopsis.

The chance to spend a night ghost-hunting alone with Hudson Holmes at Brambleberry Manor seems like a dream come true for Ruby Watkiss. Maybe, she thinks, this is their chance to get closer? But when mysterious goings-on start happening which have nothing to do with the spirit world, the pair are catapulted off on another sleuthing adventure. And as the snow starts to fall and emotions are rising at the Little Duck Pond Cafe, Ruby is faced with a double challenge. Can she be braver than she’s ever been, in order to rescue something very close to her heart? And can she convince Hudson that Christmas really can be the most wonderful time of the year?
A book that is a perfect read for around this time of year. Full of suspense and mystery, so you have the thrills of a case that is connected to a possible haunted manor. This makes it a dual themed book. Rosie Green has incorporated Halloween time with Christmas to give us an excellent addition to the Little Duck Pond series.

Rosie and Hudson are sleuthing partners who always make for an extremely entertaining read as they always end up trying to solve one mystery or another, which can make for dangerous work along the way. It isn’t always about the detective work, though with these two. They have such chemistry that although I was reading as quickly as I could to see if they solved the case, they were working on and to find out if the manor was haunted. I was also impatient to discover if they would finally admit their feelings to one another.

This had me reading the book in almost one session. I had to put it down so I could sleep, but believe me, it was fine. I finished it when I was awake the next day. I love these characters, and Rosie Green has again written a book that gives you everything! Romance alongside mystery, friendships, and suspense. A set of characters you really do feel like you know. I think there is nothing better to settle down with on a wintery evening/day than a story such as this!
