A Mills & Boon Historical romance that’s a debut novel also. I always start a book by a debut author with an open mind and no expectations. I have read a few Historical romance books lately and this was just as enthralling as the previous books I have read.

I always love enemies to lovers story where it is a dual narrative. It allows me to get to know both characters and it adds extra to the story as you can see exactly when the characters begin to alter their opinions and they realise they don’t hate one another at all…quite the opposite!
I again truly enjoyed the historical setting and the cover of this book made me wish I was living in this time! Who wouldn’t want a Viking like that?! Now…come on! The chemistry between Anne and Brand did heat up a bit, quite on the steamy side too.
Sarah Rodi has created Anne and Brand so well, they are both very well developed with their own issues and strong unique voices within the story. As I said earlier I enjoy getting to know the characters and this is certainly true with these two. The time I got to spend with each of them and discovering their individual thoughts had me connected to them both early on in the book. As the story unfolded I was cheering them on to sort themselves out and admit they had feelings.
A very immersive historical romance that I read far to quickly. I really didn’t want to leave them and come back to real life, and that’s the sign of a great book for me.
