BRAVE HERO OR CRIMINAL MASTERMIND?

TONIGHT WE FIND OUT.

Undercover cop Chris Sketty became a hero when he almost died trying to stop the most brutal terror attack in UK history. With the suspects either dead or missing, the real motive remains a mystery.

But someone is convinced Sketty is a liar.
A criminal mastermind.
A murderer.

Blackmailed into revealing the truth, Sketty will share a twisting tale of betrayal, deception and murder…with a revelation so shocking that nothing will be the same again.

Let me just tell you, if you want a book that will keep you reading for hours, this is one to check out. I picked this up and found I was hooked fight from the start. A tense and riveting read which introduced me to characters that you aren’t sure of from the outset.

Former Detective Chris Sketty was hailed a hero after he was injured in the line of duty, but since then he has lost everything that mattered to him, his family and his career. As if it wasn’t bad enough already his hero status is being questioned and the person who is questioning it has enough, in fact, more than enough evidence against him. Blackmailed into talking to Dr Ralph Teller and telling the absolute truth about the event that Teller’s wife died in we see Chris Sketty recount his tale. Is this ex- undercover police officer a hero or could he possibly be a mass murderer?

A twisting and shocking tale that takes this book to a level I didn’t expect. Teller brings a puzzle in which I couldn’t decide which way to go. If I thought one way something happened to change my view. Simon Kernick’s writing is truly fabulous in this rollercoaster of a story. I couldn’t stop wondering which way the dice would fall right until the end. For me, that is a sign of a great book, one that you can’t get out of your mind no matter what else is happening outside of your reading.

Thank you to Anne Cater of Random Things Tours and the publisher Headline for my copy of the book.
