‘Song Of The Robin’ is the first in this series of books featuring Sarah Macintyre. I love a good psychological thriller so I could not take part in this blog tour for 3 of the books. First, let’s see what this one is about.
The whispered voices and unsettling dreams were puzzling enough, but when the visions began, disquiet crept into Sarah Richards’ heart.
Trapped within a joyless and unfulfilled marriage, Sarah’s life, however, is ordered and routine. But one autumn morning she sees a figure waving to her, the figure of a man more ghostly than real.
Several times he appears, but is the spectre harmless, or are his intentions malevolent?
Disturbed and intrigued, Sarah endeavours to understand the mystery, to identify her unknown stalker.
But with each visitation, she becomes ever more bewildered, and as her ordered life begins to unravel, she questions the reality of all that she knows, and with mounting horror, even her own sanity.

A spellbinding story that had me hooked immediately. Sarah is a character that I felt for. Her marriage is not the best and her husband certainly has no respect for her. We see her spending the majority of her time alone and being frustrated at the number of things she has to do. She has visions that are rather unsettling and made quite eerie by the fact we are unaware if they are hallucinations or something else. Could they be being caused by Ill health or is it something more supernatural?
R.V Biggs has brought a well-written story with characters that draw you in and don’t let go until the last chapter. Sarah herself is such a well-drawn character and I thoroughly enjoyed her friendship with Rachel. The twists and turns were just in the right places to keep me turning the pages in anticipation of what would come next.
A brilliant start to a series that I recommend to anyone who enjoys a very well written psychological thriller.

‘Reunion‘ is the second book in the Sarah Macintyre series that follows on from ‘Song of The Robin’. Let’s check out the blurb
Left unsettled, and yearning for a new beginning, Sarah is unsure of what to do with her life. But one day she discovers an anonymous letter hidden amidst a pile of unopened mail.
The note, however, contains nothing more than a confusing riddle.
Intrigued and excited, Sarah’s hunger for a new life compels her to search for the author to understand the puzzle and solve the mystery.
Embarking on a journey that will shape the rest of her life and that of her family, Sarah uncovers a past of which she did not know, a present she must find a path through, and a future filled with intense grief and utmost joy.

This book is told over two timelines which all come together as the story unfolds. I was transported to Scotland as Sarah attempts to unravel a mystery hidden behind a letter she receives. This becomes such an emotional journey from which Sarah finds a new meaning to life as she travels upon this journey.
Sarah’s best friend Rachel is back in this book too and the fact that Sarah along with Rachel are so well drawn I felt everything these felt. This makes for such an emotional story and you can sense the journey as you feel like you are actually with Sarah.
I think R V Biggs has done and continues to do through the series, an excellent job with his characters and the continuation of the quality from Song of The Robin.
Another great book that keeps the standard set in the first book.

‘Broken‘ is the third book in the series. A book that on one hand I was really eager to read but on the other didn’t want to finish it as it would mean I had no more Sarah Macintyre books left! The fact that I felt so connected to Sarah and everyone around her is a testament to this author’s skills. Let’s again check out what the book is about.

Scarred by a tragic past, eleven-year-old Jamie Walker chooses not to speak.
Consumed with jealous rage, Jimmy Gillespie is driven to violence.
And John Macintyre awakens from a vivid nightmare convinced he is going to kill.
Living high upon the Scottish hills, John and Sarah Macintyre enjoy a serene life until a televised news bulletin sends them on a desperate search for a missing child.
After finding the child and returning him safely to his parents, the Macintyres are approached by the local press, attracting both unexpected and unwanted attention.
But the aftermath of the media coverage changes the course of their lives forever, and events are set in motion that are joyful, heartbreaking – and terrifying.
Broken is a fast-paced, action-packed book from the first page. The focus of this particular instalment is on John, Sarah’s husband and we see how the gift they share with their daughter too, changes their family.
Yet another emotional rollercoaster of a book that tied the series together nicely. The danger that the Mcintyre family go through feels so real I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t put the book down until I had devoured every word.

This series is unique and has been written so well that I have loved my time with Sarah, her family and friends too. The author has brilliantly portrayed every character to make them relatable and so real. The quality of the writing throughout made me so immersed in this series that I would highly recommend reading the series in order to gain the most from the journey the reader joins Sarah Mcintyre in.
Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and R.B Biggs for my gifted copies of all three amazing books to bring you my thoughts today.
