Josie Dom – Animalympics (illustrated by Sarah Lou)

‘Animalympics’ by Josie Dom and illustrated by Sarah Lou is a beautiful rhyming children’s book. I loved this colourful and sweet storybook. Let’s see what it’s about.

Josie Dom

Woodpecker Will presents the Animalympics! Whilst the humans stay indoors, the animal kingdom takes over to hold the sporting event of the century! Join the golfing ostriches, trampolining moles and weight-lifting gorillas (plus many more) in a fun rhyming adventure for all ages.

The cover of this book is so vibrant I loved it. I decided to read this to my granddaughter, she is only two but she loved the pictures and we spent quite a lot of time finding the animals, as I tried to teach her which one was which, while following the different animals competing in their Olympics. The illustrations to match with the story are perfect while the story is funny and very engaging. My next aim is to let my older grandchildren read it as this is a story that can span from young to old readers.

Josie Dom has created a book with a rhyming story that is funny, cute and interesting too. I loved reading it as well…and I am 50! This is a gorgeous book with a fantastic story that I can guarantee any child would love to own.
