Camilla Isley – Fool Me Twice at Christmas

‘Fool Me Twice at Christmas’ by Camilla Isley is a rom-com that I enjoyed so much. I have read nothing of this author but I was drawn into this book with the warmth of the characters and the comedy in this story.

Chuck and Kate were a couple until four months ago, but as their families are intertwined they decide not to say anything until Christmas. Then if anything can go wrong it does do and the ‘right time’ never really arrives. We are told the story by both Chuck and Kate. Their alternating views give us the picture of how they both feel about the disaster that is their ‘fake’ relationship. This helped me get to know both of them and I saw how the fact that they and both their families spend Christmas as a group made their job even harder!

I couldn’t help but laugh as everything seems to just tie them up even more and the situations become funnier and although a little part of me felt sad for them…I really couldn’t stop my chuckles. A great light and funny book for the lead up to Christmas and not too overly heavy on the Christmas side, it is more concentrated on Cuck and Kate and their relationship, fake or not. I mean they do end up engaged! If you want to know the outcome read the book, it’s worth it!

Chuck and Kate are a couple of characters you can’t help but root for. Both are well created and likeable so you feel you know them as they throw themselves headfirst into this madness that is Christmas.

A great festive read for this time of the year and one that has you laughing enough you need to keep on reading.

Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Pink Bloom Press for the copy of the book.
