‘The Daughter’s Choice’ by S.D. Robertson is an emotional family drama that shows us how far parents will go to protect their child or children. I was curious after reading the synopsis so I accepted my invitation to this books blog tour and settled down to read ‘The Daughter’s Choice’.

“Rose has always been close to her father. Her mother died soon after she was born, so it’s been just the two of them for as long as she can remember.
But a chance encounter days before she’s due to get married leaves Rose questioning everything she has ever known.
The man she trusts most in the world has been keeping a secret from her.
And the truth will leave her with an impossible choice…”
Just before her wedding Rose’s father treats her and her best friend Cara to a spa break. Unforeseen circumstances means that Cara has to leave Rose at the Spa. Rose meets Cassie during her time there and the women bond together telling their life stories to each other.

The story is split between Rose, Cassie and the truth. We are shown the build-up to the ‘chance’ meeting between Rose and Cassie and as the story carries on unfolding we are shown exactly how everyone connects to each other.
Every character was believable and poor Rose, my heart really went out to her at a certain point. The secrets and lies that are uncovered as I carried on reading came from, what seemed like nowhere. I felt for these characters as the truths start to roll out. My reading speed increased so I was almost speed-reading my way through it. I was really curious as to how everything would work out, and then came a twist I didn’t expect so that was a final surprise.

A book I thoroughly enjoyed and read in two sittings over a day, I was that absorbed with ‘The Daughter’s Choice’.
Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and Avon Books for my copy of the book.
