Patricia Gibney – Little Bones

‘Little Bones’ by Patricia Gibney is the tenth DI Lottie Parker book in the series. I have read a few of this series and never have a problem just dipping in occasionally. This is a series I really feel like I want to read from the first book right to the end just to be able to get to know Lottie Parker even more.

Patricia Gibney

An exceptionally well-written police procedural. Patricia Gibney’s characters are well-drawn. Lottie’s team has the banter of being a close-knit team and we see that throughout the story.

DI Lottie Parker is investigating the brutal murder of Isabel Gallagher. Her body was found mutilated next to her child, who was screaming left in the cot. At the same time, she is investigating another missing woman and her 4-year-old son is abducted from his daycare. Lottie makes it her mission to discover what happened to both these women and finds out that their murders are linked.

This series is set in the Irish village of Ragmullin and we don’t just see the investigations we also see DI Lottie Parkers personal life. DS Boyd and Lottie’s relationship is cooling a little as he receives a letter that may impact his life. Lottie is struggling with her work/life balance. Being a mother to 3 kids is hard enough without the added pressure of keeping the team on their toes.

A twisty and multi-layered instalment that kept me flipping the pages as I tried to work out who the murderer was, all that was concrete was they were definitely a psychopath.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the copy of the book.
